Historia completa :
Dec. 9 (Bloomberg) -- Former Pantera guitarist ``Dimebag'' Darrell Abbott and three other people died when a gunman charged on stage during a performance by Abbott's new band Damageplan at an Ohio nightclub, officials said. Police killed the shooter.
Police arrived at the Alrosa Villa club at about 10:18 p.m. local time to find 25-year-old Nathan Gale holding a man by the neck on the stage, Columbus police spokeswoman Sherry Mercurio said in a telephone interview. After Gale killed Abbott, he fired into the crowd of about 250 people, killing three people and injuring two. An officer then shot and killed Gale.
``The basic feeling here is that this officer saved a number of other lives because of his actions,'' Mercurio said.
Abbott, 39, was a founding member of heavy metal quartet Pantera. The band sold more than 13 million albums between its major record label debut in 1990 and its breakup last year. Abbott and his brother, Pantera drummer Vinnie Paul Abbott, then formed Damageplan with bassist Bobzilla and former Diesel Machine lead guitarist Patrick Lachman.
Police are still investigating the incident and didn't have a motive, Mercurio said.
